¿Cómo sabré qué diseño es mejor para la persona a la que quiero hacer el regalo?

Una joya es un regalo muy especial, único y valioso. Por eso requiere de atención y cuidado para elegir el mejor diseño que encaje con la persona que la llevará. En las joyerías convencionales solo podrás elegir entre unos modelos limitados, pero en un taller de joyería tendrás libertad para pedir exactamente el modelo de joya que encaje más con su personalidad.

Muchos clientes vienen decididos a regalar una joya personalizada, pero no saben qué joya será ideal para esa persona. Especially he insisted that it must be detailed, he want to be able to see each hair of the wolf, and the eyes seem real. The only way to achieve this was by a design in three dimensions of the piece.

So we start to work, and once approved the budget, we began to design in 3D.

In these photos you can see how it was being design and rendering, which was the first image of the ring that we show to the client to have an idea of ​​how it would be.

The ring had all kinds of details and represented exactly (or even better) the images that our client leave us. Also he could see sizes to know exactly what size would be the ring once finished.

We would continue doing the job prototyping wax in high definition. The radii you can see it’s used to retain the circular shape throughout the process, because the wax is very soft. From the wax we creates a plaster mold, which is a negative figure of the wolf, and this was filled with liquid gold, which cools in the shape of the mold.

This is how the result is once the gold piece was removed from the mold. The result is the exact shape of the mold, but with a rough texture unfinished. So yet to review, refine and make the finish.

Although we explains much quicker, to make this ring we have been working for a week. Only for prototyping wax was needed that the 3D printer was working all weekend.

And the end result was impressive, it seemed that the wolf was alive.

We make a first distinction. When we say “diamond” we’re talking about stones found in the mines without any intervention or classification. From there, these diamonds can be cut in different ways. There are four features to watch for measuring quality of brilliant cut diamonds, called 4C because it is the home of all of them.

Purity of a brilliant (Clarity): Brilliants have small inclusions that make them different. Depending on the size or position of these inclusions, the brilliant  will be classified by an expert with a 10X magnifier.

Weight in carat of a brilliant(Carat): The most visual of all the criteria is the weight of a brilliant and therefore its size. We use high-precision scales to weight in carats, equivalent to 0.2 grams.

Color of a brilliant (Color): It can vary greatly, from pure white (as are most valued) to yellow (of which there are less valued), and we can even find natural colored diamonds called “fancy.”

Cut of a brilliant (Cut): A good cut is the most important factor in choosing quality of a brilliant. The cut is what will make the light to trip properly throug it and shine with all the intensity possible. Inappropriate cuts will affect much light travel, and therefore decrease the brightness.
All this information is handy to know, because if, for example, you choose an small brilliant, but with excellent cut, will make much more effect than a large brilliant with a regular cut. The idea began to take shape, and looking for something related to the world of sailing we came to represent a classic nautical lamp. Yes, this was the perfect custom jewel! First, we made expressly carve a quartz crystal rock with accurate measurement and a insertion to hold. To give real glass lantern effect , the carver made it polished ahead and nuanced behind.

HOW TO CLEAN DIAMOND JEWELS CORRECTLY with dishwasher soap.

Necessary products:

• Bar of dish washing machine soap. Or the same detergent in powder.
• Rubber gloves for hands
• Bowl
• Used toothbrush  (or new, according to budget )
• Paper towels

Fill the bowl with hot tap water ( at a temperature that you can put your hand in it without burning) and dissolve a  little piece of dishwasher soap.

Diamonds attract fat, and therefore immediately lose its shine. If you wear rings, take them off before washing your hands with normal soap or putting body lotion as these products have oils that protect the skin and will dirt the diamonds.

Wearing the gloves to protect your hands, put your jewelry soak and brush scraping one to one the dirt. Especially remember to brush under the diamond (most mounts have holes below the brilliant crimp to clean and reflect the light correctly).

Once you have cleaned your jewelry, rinse with clean water and dry it with kitchen paper. You have your treasures ready to show off!

HOW TO CLEAN DIAMOND JEWELS CORRECTLY with alcohol

Necessary products:

• Disinfecting alcohol (do not use methyl alcohol, is toxic)
• Paper towels

This method serves only to give a quick clean to diamonds, not replaces the previous method of cleaning jewelry in depth. Simply wet a little role in alcohol and pass it over the surface of the diamond. Do not rub hard as the paper could be attached between the gold and stones.

These tricks are used to remove dirt from everyday of your jewelry, but if they have been beaten or are scratched, we recommend you going to the jewelry workshop for maintenance (polish, rodhium …)

HOW NOT TO CLEAN JEWELS WITH DIAMONDS

• Toothpaste; will not harm diamonds, but harm metals.
• Boil jewels; will not clean them, instead they can be damaged by hitting because of boiling,  and there is a risk of burning them.
• Hand soap or body soap. Because of their oils will dirty the jewelry.
• Bleach, chlorine ; dangerous and unnecessary products.
